First Health Trusts has grown organically and through acquisition, since October 1997. We specialise in advising companies with a high claims spend on how to deliver their healthcare provision more effectively - with particular reference to claims cost management and member service.
We started solely with insurance products, selling to companies of all size, specialising in cost containment and bespoke benefit tables. In 1999 we acquired a Health Trust business and since then, have pioneered the use of healthcare trusts as a funding vehicle for the provision of corporate healthcare plans.
We recognise that the service provision, especially for large corporate clients, is of paramount importance and have fundamentally addressed this issue by reducing the amount of claims managed by any one person. Typically, a helpline adviser at First will be asked to handle less than half the claims that an advisor would handle with one of the main insurance players.
We also choose to retain our manual telephone system and eschew the Call Centre or Automated Call Distribution options. It means our members are not only able to speak to a real person about their claim, but will get a more personal service - a key benefit in choosing us.
